Saulcampedin the hillof Hachilah,whichis beforeJeshimon,besidethe road,and Davidwas stayingin the wilderness.When he sawthat Saulcameafterhim into the wilderness,
O God,You are my God;I shall seekYou earnestly;My soulthirstsfor You, my fleshyearnsfor You, In a dryand wearylandwhere there is nowater.
Now Davidbecameawarethat Saulhad comeout to seekhis lifewhile Davidwas in the wildernessof Ziphat Horesh.
Then Ziphitescameup to Saulat Gibeah,saying,"Is Davidnot hidingwith us in the strongholdsat Horesh,on the hillof Hachilah,whichis on the southof Jeshimon?
He cameto the sheepfoldson the way,wherethere[was] a cave;and Saulwentin to relievehimself. Now Davidand his menwere sittingin the innerrecessesof the cave.
Then the Ziphitescameto Saulat Gibeah,saying,"Is not Davidhidingon the hillof Hachilah,[which is] beforeJeshimon?"
Davidsentout spies,and he knewthat Saulwas definitelycoming.
