When there was waragain,Davidwentout and foughtwith the Philistinesand defeatedthem with greatslaughter,so that they fledbeforehim.
The kingof Israelwentout and struckthe horsesand chariots,and killedthe Arameanswith a greatslaughter.
Thougha hostencampagainstme, My heartwill not fear;Thoughwarariseagainstme, In [spite of] thisI shall be confident.
Davidwas prosperingin allhis waysfor the LORD[was] with him.
Then the commandersof the Philistineswentout [to battle], and it happenedas oftenas they wentout, that Davidbehavedhimself morewiselythanallthe servantsof Saul.So his namewas highlyesteemed.
Then JonathancalledDavid,and Jonathantoldhim allthesewords.And JonathanbroughtDavidto Saul,and he was in his presenceas formerly.
Now there was an evilspiritfrom the LORDon Saulas he was sittingin his housewith his spearin his hand,and Davidwas playing[the harp] with [his] hand.
So Davidand his menwentto Keilahand foughtwith the Philistines;and he ledawaytheir livestockand struckthem with a greatslaughter.Thus Daviddeliveredthe inhabitantsof Keilah.
