He proceededthereto Naiothin Ramah;and the Spiritof Godcameupon him also,so that he wentalong prophesyingcontinuallyuntilhe cameto Naiothin Ramah.
The mindof manplanshis way,But the LORDdirectshis steps.
The king'sheartis [like] channelsof waterin the handof the LORD;He turnsit whereverHe wishes.
Then the LORDputa wordin Balaam'smouthand said,"Returnto Balak,and you shall speakthus."
And Balaamliftedup his eyesand sawIsraelcampingtribeby tribe;and the Spiritof Godcameupon him.
"Manywill sayto Me on that day,'Lord,Lord,did we not prophesyin Your name,and in Your namecastout demons,and in Your nameperformmanymiracles?'
Nowhe did not saythison his own initiative,but beinghigh priestthat year,he prophesiedthat Jesuswas goingto diefor the nation,
IfI have[the gift of] prophecy,and knowallmysteriesand allknowledge;and ifI haveallfaith,soas to removemountains,but do not havelove,I amnothing.
When they cameto the hillthere,behold,a groupof prophetsmethim; and the Spiritof Godcameupon him mightily,so that he prophesiedamongthem.
A mantheresaid,"Now, whois their father?"Thereforeit becamea proverb:"Is Saulalsoamong the prophets?"
"Then the Spiritof the LORDwill comeupon you mightily,and you shall prophesywith them and be changedinto anotherman.
Now it cameabout on the nextdaythat an evilspiritfrom Godcamemightilyupon Saul,and he ravedin the midstof the house,while Davidwas playing[the harp] with his hand,as usual;and a spear[was] in Saul'shand.
Now Davidfledand escapedand cameto Samuelat Ramah,and toldhim allthat Saulhad doneto him. And he and Samuelwentand stayedin Naioth.
Then Saulsentmessengersto takeDavid,but when they sawthe companyof the prophetsprophesying,with Samuelstanding[and] presidingoverthem, the Spiritof Godcameupon the messengersof Saul;and they alsoprophesied.
Then he himselfwentto Ramahand cameas faras the largewellthat is in Secu;and he askedand said,"Whereare Samueland David?"And [someone] said,"Behold,they are at Naiothin Ramah."
