Then Samuelsaidto Saul,"The LORDsentme to anointyou as kingoverHis people,overIsrael;nowtherefore, listento the wordsof the LORD.
Then Elishasaid,"Listento the wordof the LORD;thussaysthe LORD,Tomorrowabout this timea measureof fineflourwill be [sold] for a shekel,and two measuresof barleyfor a shekel,in the gateof Samaria.'"
Then Samueltookthe flaskof oil,pouredit on his head,kissedhim and said,"Has not the LORDanointedyou a ruleroverHis inheritance?
"Ifyou will fearthe LORDand serveHim, and listento His voiceand not rebelagainstthe commandof the LORD,then bothyou and alsothe kingwhoreignsoveryou will followthe LORDyour God.
Samuelsaidto Saul,"You have actedfoolishly;you have not keptthe commandmentof the LORDyour God,whichHe commandedyou, for nowthe LORDwould have establishedyour kingdomoverIsraelforever.
Now a daybeforeSaul'scoming,the LORDhad revealed[this] to Samuelsaying,
"About this timetomorrowI will sendyou a manfrom the landof Benjamin,and you shall anointhim to be princeoverMy peopleIsrael;and he will deliverMy peoplefrom the handof the Philistines.For I have regardedMy people,becausetheir cryhas cometo Me."
