They gavehim a pieceof figcakeand twoclustersof raisins,and he ate;then his spiritrevived.For he had not eatenbreador drunkwaterfor threedaysand threenights.
Then Saulsaidto Jonathan,"Tellme whatyou have done."So Jonathantoldhim and said,"I indeedtasteda littlehoneywith the endof the staffthat was in my hand.HereI am, I must die!"
Then Jonathansaid,"My fatherhas troubledthe land.Seenow,howmy eyeshave brightenedbecauseI tasteda littleof thishoney.
[Like] a trampledspringand a pollutedwellIs a righteousmanwho giveswaybeforethe wicked.
Then oneof the peoplesaid,"Your fatherstrictlyputthe peopleunderoath,saying,'Cursedbe the manwhoeatsfoodtoday.'"And the peoplewere weary.
