He tooka yokeof oxenand cutthem in pieces,and sent[them] throughoutthe territoryof Israelby the handof messengers,saying,"Whoeverdoes not comeout afterSauland afterSamuel,soshall it be doneto his oxen."Then the dreadof the LORDfellon the people,and they cameout as oneman.
As they journeyed,there was a greatterrorupon the citieswhichwere aroundthem, and they did not pursuethe sonsof Jacob.
They destroyedallthe citiesaroundGerar,for the dreadof the LORDhad fallenon them; and they despoiledallthe cities,for there was muchplunderin them.
Now the dreadof the LORDwas on allthe kingdomsof the landswhich[were] aroundJudah,so that they did not makewaragainstJehoshaphat.
"Nowthen let the fearof the LORDbe upon you; be very carefulwhat you do,for the LORDour Godwill havenopart in unrighteousnessor partialityor the takingof a bribe."
"It is the LORDof hostswhom you should regardas holy.And He shall be your fear,And He shall be your dread.
When he enteredhis house,he tooka knifeand laidholdof his concubineand cuther in twelvepieces,limb by limb,and senther throughoutthe territoryof Israel.
Then allthe sonsof Israelfrom Danto Beersheba,including the landof Gilead,cameout, and the congregationassembledas onemanto the LORDat Mizpah.
