Now Elijahthe Tishbite,who was of the settlersof Gilead,saidto Ahab,"As the LORD,the Godof Israellives,beforewhomI stand,surelythere shall be neitherdewnor raintheseyears,exceptby my word."
"As the LORDyour Godlives,thereis nonationor kingdomwheremy masterhas not sentto searchfor you; and when they said,'He is not [here],' he made the kingdomor nationswearthat they could not findyou.

Balaamrepliedto the servantsof Balak,"ThoughBalakwere to giveme his housefullof silverand gold,I couldnot doanything, either smallorgreat,contraryto the commandof the LORDmy God.
So Balaamsaidto Balak,"Behold,I have comenowto you! Am I ableto speakanythingat all? The wordthat Godputsin my mouth,that I shall speak."
He saidto them, "Spendthe nighthere,and I will bringwordbackto you as the LORDmay speakto me." And the leadersof Moabstayedwith Balaam.
ThoughBalakwere to giveme his housefullof silverand gold,I couldnot doanything contraryto the commandof the LORD,either goodorbad,of my own accord.Whatthe LORDspeaks,that I will speak'?
For we are not likemany,peddlingthe wordof God,but as from sincerity,but as from God,we speakin Christin the sightof God.
but we have renouncedthe things hiddenbecause of shame,not walkingin craftinessoradulteratingthe wordof God,but by the manifestationof truthcommendingourselvesto everyman'sconsciencein the sightof God.
For am I nowseeking the favorof men,orof God?Oram I strivingto pleasemen?IfI were stilltrying to pleasemen,I would not be a bond-servantof Christ.
