Now Ben-hadadkingof Aramgatheredallhis army,and there [were] thirty-twokingswith him, and horsesand chariots.And he wentup and besiegedSamariaand foughtagainst it.
They wentout at noon,while Ben-hadadwas drinkinghimself drunkin the temporaryshelterswith the thirty-twokingswho helpedhim.
Now the servantsof the kingof Aramsaidto him, "Their godsare godsof the mountains,thereforethey were strongerthanwe; but ratherlet us fightagainstthem in the plain,[and] surelywe will be strongerthanthey.
and musteran armylike the armythat you have lost,horsefor horse,and chariotfor chariot.Then we will fightagainstthem in the plain,and surelywe will be strongerthanthey." And he listenedto their voiceand didso.
Now the kingof Aramhad commandedthe thirty-twocaptainsof his chariots,saying,"Do not fightwith smallor great,but with the kingof Israelalone."
Thereis nowisdomand nounderstandingAnd nocounselagainstthe LORD.
