In the twenty-seventhyearof Asakingof Judah,Zimrireignedsevendaysat Tirzah.Now the peoplewere campedagainstGibbethon,whichbelonged to the Philistines.
Thenthe peopleof Israelwere dividedinto twoparts:halfof the peoplefollowedTibnithe sonof Ginath,to makehim king;the [other] halffollowedOmri.
In the thirty-firstyearof Asakingof Judah,OmribecamekingoverIsrael[and reigned] twelveyears;he reignedsixyearsat Tirzah.
And Baashasleptwith his fathersand was buriedin Tirzah,and Elahhis sonbecamekingin his place.
Moreover,the wordof the LORDthroughthe prophetJehuthe sonof HananialsocameagainstBaashaand his household,both becauseof allthe evilwhichhe didin the sightof the LORD,provokingHim to angerwith the workof his hands,in beinglike the houseof Jeroboam,and becausehe struckit.
His servantZimri,commanderof halfhis chariots,conspiredagainsthim. Now he [was] at Tirzahdrinkinghimself drunkin the houseof Arza,who[was] overthe householdat Tirzah.
Then Menahemsonof Gadiwentup from Tirzahand cameto Samaria,and struckShallumsonof Jabeshin Samaria,and killedhim and becamekingin his place.
In the fiftiethyearof Azariahkingof Judah,Pekahiahsonof MenahembecamekingoverIsraelin Samaria,[and reigned] twoyears.
Amonwas twenty-twoyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedtwoyearsin Jerusalem;and his mother'sname[was] Meshullemeththe daughterof Haruzof Jotbah.
By the transgressionof a landmanyare its princes,But by a manof understanding[and] knowledge,soit endures.
