Now Rehoboamthe sonof Solomonreignedin Judah.Rehoboamwas forty-oneyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedseventeenyearsin Jerusalem,the citywhichthe LORDhad chosenfrom allthe tribesof Israelto putHis namethere.And his mother'snamewas Naamahthe Ammonitess.
Now KingSolomonlovedmanyforeignwomenalong with the daughterof Pharaoh:Moabite,Ammonite,Edomite,Sidonian,and Hittitewomen,
(but he will haveonetribe,for the sakeof My servantDavidand for the sakeof Jerusalem,the citywhichI have chosenfrom allthe tribesof Israel),
But to his sonI will giveonetribe,that My servantDavidmay havea lampalwaysbeforeMe in Jerusalem,the citywhereI have chosenfor Myself to putMy name.
And Solomonsleptwith his fathersand was buriedin the cityof his fatherDavid,and his sonRehoboamreignedin his place.
But as for the sonsof Israelwho livedin the citiesof Judah,Rehoboamreignedoverthem.
The timethat Jeroboamreigned[was] twenty-twoyears;and he sleptwith his fathers,and Nadabhis sonreignedin his place.
And Rehoboamsleptwith his fathersand was buriedwith his fathersin the cityof David;and his mother'snamewas Naamahthe Ammonitess.And Abijamhis sonbecamekingin his place.
Jehoshaphatwas thirty-fiveyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedtwenty-fiveyearsin Jerusalem.And his mother'snamewas Azubahthe daughterof Shilhi.
Sincethe daythat I broughtMy peopleIsraelfrom Egypt,I did not choosea cityout of allthe tribesof Israel[in which] to builda housethat My namemight be there,but I choseDavidto be overMy peopleIsrael.'
that Your eyesmay be opentowardthishousenightand day,towardthe placeof whichYou have said,'My nameshall be there,'to listento the prayerwhichYour servantshall praytowardthisplace.
"WhenYour peoplegoout to battleagainsttheir enemy,by whateverwayYou shall sendthem, and they prayto the LORDtowardthe citywhichYou have chosenand the housewhichI have builtfor Your name,
When the kingdomof Rehoboamwas establishedand strong,he and allIsraelwith him forsookthe lawof the LORD.
So KingRehoboamstrengthenedhimself in Jerusalemand reigned.NowRehoboamwas forty-oneyearsoldwhen he began to reign,and he reignedseventeenyearsin Jerusalem,the citywhichthe LORDhad chosenfrom allthe tribesof Israel,to putHis namethere.And his mother'snamewas Naamahthe Ammonitess.
and worthlessmengatheredabouthim, scoundrels,who provedtoostrongfor Rehoboam,the sonof Solomon,when he was youngand timidand could not holdhis ownagainstthem.
You shall makean altarof earthfor Me, and you shall sacrificeon it your burntofferingsand your peaceofferings,your sheepand your oxen;in everyplacewhereI cause My nameto be remembered,I will cometo you and blessyou.
Cryaloudand shoutfor joy,O inhabitantof Zion,For greatin your midstis the HolyOneof Israel.
"Ifthe placewhichthe LORDyour Godchoosesto putHis nameis too farfrom you, then you may slaughterof your herdand flockwhichthe LORDhas givenyou, as I have commandedyou; and you may eatwithin your gateswhateveryou desire.
"But you shall seek[the LORD] at the placewhichthe LORDyour Godwill choosefrom allyour tribes,to establishHis nametherefor His dwelling,and thereyou shall come.
"NoAmmoniteor Moabiteshall enterthe assemblyof the LORD;noneof their [descendants], evento the tenthgeneration,shall everenterthe assemblyof the LORD,
