Now an oldprophetwas livingin Bethel;and his sonscameand toldhim allthe deedswhichthe manof Godhad donethat dayin Bethel;the wordswhichhe had spokento the king,these also they relatedto their father.
So he wentanotherwayand did not returnby the waywhichhe cameto Bethel.
Their fathersaidto them, "Whichwaydid he go?"Now his sonshad seenthe waywhichthe manof Godwhocamefrom Judahhad gone.
And behold,menpassedby and sawthe bodythrownon the road,and the lionstandingbesidethe body;so they cameand told[it] in the citywherethe oldprophetlived.
He said,"Lethim alone;let noonedisturbhis bones."So they lefthis bonesundisturbedwith the bonesof the prophetwhocamefrom Samaria.
[along with] the prophetsof Israelwho prophesyto Jerusalem,and who seevisionsof peacefor her when thereis nopeace,'declaresthe LordGOD.
"Sonof man,prophesyagainstthe prophetsof Israelwho prophesy,and sayto those who prophesyfrom their own inspiration,Listento the wordof the LORD!
And Balaamliftedup his eyesand sawIsraelcampingtribeby tribe;and the Spiritof Godcameupon him.
"Manywill sayto Me on that day,'Lord,Lord,did we not prophesyin Your name,and in Your namecastout demons,and in Your nameperformmanymiracles?'
(but ifa mandoes not know howto managehis ownhousehold,howwill he take careof the churchof God?),
but he receiveda rebukefor his owntransgression,[for] a mutedonkey,speakingwith a voiceof a man,restrainedthe madnessof the prophet.
It cameabout, when allwho knewhim previouslysawthat he prophesiednowwith the prophets,that the peoplesaidto oneanother,"Whathas happenedto the sonof Kish?Is Saulalsoamong the prophets?"
