Now it cameabout whenHushaithe Archite,David'sfriend,cameto Absalom,that Hushaisaidto Absalom,"[Long] livethe king![Long] livethe king!"
"He has sacrificedoxenand fatlingsand sheepin abundance,and has invitedallthe sonsof the kingand Abiatharthe priestand Joabthe commanderof the army,but he has not invitedSolomonyour servant.
Then Nathansaid,"My lordthe king,have you said,'Adonijahshall be kingafterme, and he shall siton my throne'?
"Let Zadokthe priestand Nathanthe prophetanointhim thereas kingoverIsrael,and blowthe trumpetand say,[Long] liveKingSolomon!'
Zadokthe priestthen tookthe hornof oilfrom the tentand anointedSolomon.Then they blewthe trumpet,and allthe peoplesaid,"[Long] liveKingSolomon!"
Adonijahsacrificedsheepand oxenand fatlingsby the stoneof Zoheleth,whichis besideEn-rogel;and he invitedallhis brothers,the king'ssons,and allthe menof Judah,the king'sservants.
So he said,"You knowthat the kingdomwas mine and that allIsraelexpectedme to be king;however, the kingdomhas turnedaboutand becomemy brother's,for it was his from the LORD.
Then he broughtthe king'ssonout and putthe crownon him and [gave him] the testimony;and they madehim kingand anointedhim, and they clappedtheir handsand said,"[Long] livethe king!"
She lookedand behold,the kingwas standingby the pillar,according to the custom,with the captainsand the trumpetersbesidethe king;and allthe peopleof the landrejoicedand blewtrumpets.Then Athaliahtoreher clothesand cried,"Treason!Treason!"
Then they hurriedand eachmantookhis garmentand placedit underhim on the baresteps,and blewthe trumpet,saying,"Jehuis king!"
"Nowtherefore, our God,we thankYou, and praiseYour gloriousname.
On the nextdaythey madesacrificesto the LORDand offeredburntofferingsto the LORD,1000bulls,1000rams[and] 1,000lambs,with their drinkofferingsand sacrificesin abundancefor allIsrael.
Then they broughtout the king'ssonand putthe crownon him, and [gave him] the testimonyand madehim king.And Jehoiadaand his sonsanointedhim and said,"[Long] livethe king!"
The crowdsgoing aheadof Him, and thosewho followed,were shouting,"Hosannato the Sonof David;BLESSEDIS HE WHO COMESIN THE NAMEOF THE LORD;Hosannain the highest!"
"Againhe sentout otherslavessaying, 'Tellthosewho have been invited,"Behold,I have preparedmy dinner;my oxenand my fattened livestockare [all] butcheredand everythingis ready;cometo the wedding feast."'
shouting:"BLESSEDIS THE KINGWHO COMESIN THE NAMEOF THE LORD;Peacein heavenand gloryin the highest!"
Samuelsaidto allthe people,"Do you seehim whomthe LORDhas chosen?Surelythereis noonelikehim among allthe people."So allthe peopleshoutedand said,"[Long] livethe king!"
