"He has sacrificedoxenand fatlingsand sheepin abundance,and has invitedallthe sonsof the kingand Abiatharthe priestand Joabthe commanderof the army,but he has not invitedSolomonyour servant.
"Otherwise it will comeabout, as soon as my lordthe kingsleepswith his fathers,that I and my sonSolomonwill be considered offenders."
"Considernow,for the LORDhas chosenyou to builda housefor the sanctuary;be courageousand act."
Then KingDavidsaidto the entireassembly,"My sonSolomon,whom aloneGodhas chosen,is still youngand inexperiencedand the workis great;for the templeis not for man,but for the LORDGod.
"O our God,will You not judgethem? For we are powerlessbeforethisgreatmultitudewho are comingagainstus; nordo we knowwhatto do,but our eyesare on You."
Behold,as the eyesof servants[look] to the handof their master,As the eyesof a maidto the handof her mistress,Soour eyes[look] to the LORDour God,UntilHe is graciousto us.
My eyesare continuallytowardthe LORD,For He will pluckmy feetout of the net.
For behold,the stonethat I have setbeforeJoshua;on onestoneare seveneyes.Behold,I will engravean inscriptionon it,' declaresthe LORDof hosts,and I will removethe iniquityof that landin oneday.
