"Now,behold,Adonijahis king;and now,my lordthe king,you do not know[it].
"As for you now, my lordthe king,the eyesof allIsraelare on you, to tellthem whoshall siton the throneof my lordthe kingafterhim.
"For he has gonedowntodayand has sacrificedoxenand fatlingsand sheepin abundance,and has invitedallthe king'ssonsand the commandersof the armyand Abiatharthe priest,and behold,they are eatingand drinkingbeforehim; and they say,[Long] liveKingAdonijah!'
"Againhe sentout otherslavessaying, 'Tellthosewho have been invited,"Behold,I have preparedmy dinner;my oxenand my fattened livestockare [all] butcheredand everythingis ready;cometo the wedding feast."'
