does not act unbecomingly;it does not seekits own,is not provoked,does not take into accounta wrong[suffered],
the princesof the Ammonitessaidto Hanuntheir lord,"Do you thinkthat Davidis honoringyour fatherbecausehe has sentconsolersto you? Has Davidnot senthis servantsto you in orderto searchthe city,to spyit out and overthrowit?"
"Behold,I knowyour thoughts,And the plansby which you would wrongme.
A quick-temperedman actsfoolishly,And a manof evildevicesis hated.
And the peoplewill be oppressed,Eachoneby another,and eachoneby his neighbor;The youthwill stormagainst the elderAnd the inferioragainst the honorable.
But I was like a gentlelambledto the slaughter;And I did not knowthat they had devisedplotsagainstme, [saying], "Let us destroythe treewith its fruit,And let us cuthim offfrom the landof the living,That his namebe rememberednomore."

Then Mosesbecameveryangryand saidto the LORD,"Do not regardtheir offering!I have not takena singledonkeyfrom them, norhave I doneharmto anyof them."
But Mosessaidto the sonsof Gadand to the sonsof Reuben,"Shall your brothersgoto warwhile you yourselvessithere?
"But I sayto you that everyonewho is angrywith his brothershall be guiltybefore the court;and whoeversaysto his brother,You good-for-nothing,'shall be guiltybefore the supreme court;and whoeversays,'You fool,'shall be guilty[enough to go] into the fieryhell.
And Jesusknowingtheir thoughtssaid,"Whyare you thinkingevilin your hearts?
After looking aroundat them with anger,grievedat their hardnessof heart,He saidto the man,"Stretchout your hand."And he stretchedit out, and his handwas restored.
Nowwhen the Phariseewho had invitedHim sawthis, he saidto himself,"Ifthis manwere a prophetHe would knowwhoand what sort of personthiswomanis whois touchingHim, that she is a sinner."
Let no oneseekhis own[good], but that of his neighbor.
justas I alsopleaseallmen in all things,not seekingmy ownprofitbut the [profit] of the many,sothat they may be saved.
For, in the firstplace, when you come togetheras a church,I hearthat divisionsexistamongyou; and in partI believeit.
sothat there may be nodivisionin the body,but [that] the membersmay havethe samecarefor one another.
But ifany manthinksthat he is acting unbecominglytowardhis virgin[daughter], ifshe is past her youth,and if it mustbe so,let him dowhathe wishes,he does not sin;let her marry.
namely,that Godwas in Christreconcilingthe worldto Himself,not countingtheir trespassesagainst them, and He has committedto us the wordof reconciliation.
For you were calledto freedom,brethren;only[do] not [turn] your freedominto an opportunityfor the flesh,but throughloveserveone another.
For they allseek aftertheir owninterests, not thoseof ChristJesus.
Finally,brethren,whateveris true,whateveris honorable,whateveris right,whateveris pure,whateveris lovely,whateveris of good repute,ifthere is anyexcellenceand ifanythingworthy of praise,dwellon these things.
For you yourselvesknowhowyou oughtto follow our example,becausewe did not act in an undisciplined manneramongyou,
For thisreasonI endureall thingsfor the sakeof thosewho are chosen,sothat they alsomay obtainthe salvationwhich is in ChristJesus[and] with [it] eternalglory.
At my firstdefenseno onesupportedme, but alldesertedme; may it not be countedagainst them.
[This] you know,my belovedbrethren.But everyonemust be quickto hear,slowto speak[and] slowto anger;
