Abrahamsaidto his servant,the oldestof his household,who hadchargeof allthat he owned, "Pleaseplaceyour handundermy thigh,
When the timefor Israelto diedrewnear,he calledhis sonJosephand saidto him, "Please,ifI have foundfavorin your sight,placenowyour handundermy thighand dealwith me in kindnessand faithfulness.Pleasedo not buryme in Egypt,
Davidalso commandedallthe leadersof Israelto helphis sonSolomon,[saying],
"Now behold,[there are] the divisionsof the priestsand the Levitesfor allthe serviceof the houseof God,and everywillingmanof anyskillwill be with you in allthe workfor allkinds of service.The officialsalso and allthe peoplewill be entirelyat your command."
Then Solomonsaton the throneof the LORDas kinginsteadof Davidhis father;and he prospered,and allIsraelobeyedhim.
The LORDhighlyexaltedSolomonin the sightof allIsrael,and bestowedon him royalmajestywhichhadnot beenon anykingbeforehim in Israel.
"Nowdo not stiffenyour necklike your fathers,but yieldto the LORDand enterHis sanctuarywhichHe has consecratedforever,and servethe LORDyour God,that His burningangermay turnawayfrom you.
"Raiseyour battlecryagainsther on everyside!She has givenherselfup, her pillarshave fallen,Her wallshave been torndown.For thisis the vengeanceof the LORD:Takevengeanceon her; As she has done[to others, so] doto her.
Now he despisedthe oathby breakingthe covenant,and behold,he pledgedhis allegiance,yet didallthesethings;he shall not escape.'"
