Now the divisionsof the descendantsof Aaron[were these]: the sonsof Aaron[were] Nadab,Abihu,Eleazarand Ithamar.
the twenty-thirdfor Delaiah,the twenty-fourthfor Maaziah.
Now for the restof the sonsof Levi:of the sonsof Amram,Shubael;of the sonsof Shubael,Jehdeiah.
the sonof Elkanah,the sonof Jeroham,the sonof Eliel,the sonof Toah,
Their relativesin their villages[were] to comein every sevendaysfrom timeto time[to be] with them;
"Thisis the thingwhichyou shall do:one thirdof you, of the priestsand Leviteswho comein on the sabbath,[shall be] gatekeepers,
So the Levitesand allJudahdidaccording to allthat Jehoiadathe priestcommanded.And eachoneof them tookhis menwho were to comein on the sabbath,with those who were to goout on the sabbath,for Jehoiadathe priestdid not dismiss[any of] the divisions.
Nowit happened[that] whilehe was performing his priestly servicebeforeGodin the [appointed] orderof his division,
But all thingsmust be doneproperlyand in an orderly manner.
Nowifperfectionwas throughthe Leviticalpriesthood(for on the basisof it the peoplereceived the Law),whatfurtherneed[was there] for anotherpriestto ariseaccordingto the orderof Melchizedek,and not be designatedaccordingto the orderof Aaron?
