So then Jesus plainly told them, “Lazarus is dead.
He said this openly. And Peter took Him and began to rebuke Him.
Then the Jews surrounded Him, saying, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
Jesus had spoken of his death. But they thought that He was speaking of getting rest through sleep.
And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.”
“I have told you these things in proverbs. But the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in proverbs, for I will speak to you plainly about the Father.
His disciples said to Him, “Yes! Now You are speaking plainly and with no figure of speech.
