And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.”

The Lord appeared to him that same night and said, “I am the God of Abraham your father. Do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for the sake of My servant Abraham.”

From the time that he had made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house on account of Joseph. So the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

He permitted no one to do them wrong; He rebuked kings for their sakes,

Indeed they shall surely assail you fiercely, but not from Me. Whoever assails you shall fall for your sake.

Thus says the Lord: As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, “Do not destroy it for a blessing is in it,” so I will do for the sake of My servants that I may not destroy them all.

So then Jesus plainly told them, “Lazarus is dead.

Then Thomas, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us go also, that we may die with Him.”

When Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it.”

Jesus answered, “This voice came not for My sake, but for your sakes.

For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

This, the first of His signs, Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and He revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

All these things are for your sakes, so that the abundant grace through the thanksgiving of many might overflow to the glory of God.

Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
