He has swallowed down riches, and he will vomit them up again; God will cast them out of his belly.

His children will seek favor from the poor, and his hands will give back his wealth.

yet his food in his stomach turns sour; it becomes the venom of cobras within him.

He will give back the produce of labor and will not swallow it down. According to his wealth the restitution will be, and he will not rejoice in it;

“Because he knows no quietness in his belly, he will not save anything he desired.

The increase of his house will depart, and his goods will flow away in the day of His wrath.

Let the creditor seize all that he has, and let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.

Precious treasure and oil are in the house of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it.

The morsel which you have eaten, you will vomit up, and lose your pleasant words.

“Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me and crushed me; he has made me an empty vessel. He has swallowed me up like a dragon; he has filled his belly with my delicacies, he has cast me out.

I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth from his mouth what he has swallowed up; and the nations will not flow together any more to him. Indeed, the wall of Babylon will fall.

Shall not all these take up a taunt against him, with satire and riddles, and say, “Woe to him who increases what is not his—how long? And to him who loads himself with heavy debts!”
