I will upset him with rumours about what's happening in his own country. He will go back, and there I will make him die a violent death.

But he has kept you alive, just to show you his power and to bring honour to himself everywhere in the world.

But the LORD All-Powerful will use his fearsome might to bring down the tallest trees and chop off every branch.

In the evening their attack is fierce, but by morning they are destroyed. This is what happens to those who raid and rob us.

The LORD sent an angel to the camp of the Assyrians, and he killed one hundred and eighty-five thousand of them all in one night. The next morning, the camp was full of dead bodies.

That same night, the king was killed.

But I am the LORD God of Judah, and I will have mercy and save Judah by my own power—not by wars and arrows or swords and cavalry.”

At once an angel from the Lord struck him down because he took the honour that belonged to God. Later, Herod was eaten by worms and died.
