But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block unto Me, because you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."


And He was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan, and was with the wild animals; and the angels were ministering to Him.

hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, in order that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.


Do not deprive one another, except by mutual agreement, [and that] for a season, so that you may devote yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, lest Satan tempt you because of your lack of self-control.


And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.


And lest I exalt myself above measure by the excellence of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, that it might beat me, lest I exalt myself above measure.


lest we be taken advantage of by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his devices.


Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.


Resist him, being steadfast in [your] faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
