6 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.


And he thought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be.


And when he had lifted up his eyes, there appeared to him three men standing near him: and as soon as he saw them he ran to meet them from the door of his tent, and adored down to the ground.


7 I will bless thee, and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the seashore: thy seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.


5 Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and twenty bulls, twenty she asses, and ten of their foals.


1 And take the blessing, which I have brought thee, and which God hath given me, who giveth all things. He took it with much ado at his brother's earnest pressing him,


But he said: I have plenty, my brother, keep what is thine for thyself.


And he knew them, he spoke as it were to strangers somewhat roughly, asking them: Whence came you? They answered: From the land of Chanaan, to buy necessaries of life.


2 And take with you double money, and carry back what you found in your sacks, lest perhaps it was done by mistake.


7 But he, courteously saluting them again, asked them, saying: Is the old man your father in health, of whom uou told me? Is he yet living?


8 For every one of the builders was girded with a sword about his reins. And they built, and sounded with a trumpet by me.


5 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, both are abominable before God.


3 The poor will speak with supplications, and the rich will speak roughly.


3 A foolish son is the grief of his father: and a wrangling wife is like a roof continually dropping through.


1 He that followeth justice and mercy, shall find life, justice, and glory.
