To Him who struck Mitsrayim in their first-born, For His loving-commitment is everlasting;


And He struck all the first-born in Mitsrayim, The first-fruits of strength in the tents of Ḥam,


‘And I shall pass through the land of Mitsrayim on that night, and shall strike all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim, both man and beast. And on all the mighty ones of Mitsrayim I shall execute judgment. I am יהוה.


‘And it came to be, when Pharaoh was too hardened to let us go, that יהוה killed every first-born in the land of Mitsrayim, both the first-born of man and the first-born of beast. Therefore I am slaughtering to יהוה every male that opens the womb, but every first-born of my sons I ransom.’


‘And the nation to whom they shall be enslaved, I shall judge,’ said Elohim, ‘and after that they shall come out and serve Me in this place.’
