If יהוה does not build the house, Its builders have laboured in vain. If יהוה does not guard the city, The watchman has stayed awake in vain.


יהוה does guard him and keep him alive; He is blessed on the earth, And You do not hand him over To the desire of his enemies.


For You, O Elohim, do bring them down To the pit of destruction; Men of blood and deceit do not reach half their days; But I, I trust in You.


Who keeps us in life, And does not allow our feet to be moved.


They bear you up in their hands, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.


To watch over the paths of right-ruling, And the way of His lovingly-commited ones He guards.


Then you would walk safely in your way, And your foot would not stumble.


For יהוה is at your side, And He shall guard your foot from being caught.
