יהושע said to him, “Truly, I say to you that this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times.”
And after a while those who stood by came to him and said to Kĕpha, “Truly you are one of them too, for even your speech gives you away.”
And Kĕpha remembered the word of יהושע who had said to him, “Before a cock crows, you shall deny Me three times.” And going out, he wept bitterly.
And all the people answering, said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”
And יהושע said to him, “Truly, I say to you that today, this night, before the cock shall crow twice, you shall deny Me three times.”
But he denied it, saying, “I do not know nor understand what you are saying.” And he went out onto the porch, and a cock crowed.
