I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.
His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall thoroughly cleanse His threshing-floor, and gather His wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff He shall burn with unquenchable fire.
Yoḥanan answered them, saying, “I immerse in water, but in your midst stands One whom you do not know,
the One coming after me, who has become before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loosen.”
“And I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit coming down and remaining on Him, this is He who immerses in the Set-apart Spirit.’
“As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.”
because Yoḥanan truly immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Set-apart Spirit not many days from now.”
While Kĕpha was still speaking these words, the Set-apart Spirit fell upon all those hearing the word.
“Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of Elohim, and having received from the Father the promise of the Set-apart Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
For indeed by one Spirit we were all immersed into one body, whether Yehuḏim or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink into one Spirit.
