Send men to spy out the land of Kena‛an, which I am giving to the children of Yisra’ĕl. Send one man from each tribe of their fathers, every one a leader among them.
“And take one leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance.
“And the matter was good in my eyes, so I took twelve of your men, one man from each tribe.
“And now, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Yisra’ĕl, one man from every tribe.
