And he called the name of that place Bĕyth Ěl, however, the name of that city had been Luz previously.


And it came to be that Dawiḏ came to the summit, where he bowed himself before Elohim, and saw Ḥushai the Arkite, coming to meet him with his robe torn and dust on his head.


And Ḥushai, Dawiḏ’s friend, went into the city. And Aḇshalom came into Yerushalayim.


And it came to be, when Ḥushai the Arkite, the friend of Dawiḏ, had come to Aḇshalom, that Ḥushai said to Aḇshalom, “Let the sovereign live! Let the sovereign live!”


And Aḥithophel was the sovereign’s counsellor, and Ḥushai the Arkite was the sovereign’s companion.


And their possessions and dwelling places were Bĕyth Ěl and its towns: to the east Na‛aran, and to the west Gezer and its towns, and Sheḵem and its towns, as far as Ayyah and its towns.


And the border went over from there toward Luz, to the side of Luz, that is Bĕyth Ěl, southward. And the border went down to Ataroth Aḏar, by the hill that lies on the south side of Lower Bĕyth Ḥoron.
