Yishma‛ĕl son of Nethanyah, and the ten men who were with him, arose and struck Geḏalyahu son of Aḥiqam, son of Shaphan, with the sword, and killed him whom the sovereign of Baḇel had made governor over the land.


And it came to be, on the second day after he had killed Geḏalyahu, when no one yet knew it,


She weeps bitterly at night, And her tears are upon her cheeks. Among all her lovers there is no comforter for her. All her friends have betrayed her, They have become her enemies.
