“And its rich yield goes to the sovereigns You have set over us, because of our sins. And they rule over our bodies and our livestock at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.


“For you deceived yourselves when you sent me to יהוה  your Elohim, saying, ‘Pray for us to יהוה  our Elohim, and according to all that יהוה  your Elohim says, so declare to us and we shall do it.’


He said, “Yea.” And when he came into the house, יהושע  spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Shimʽ


But knowing their wickedness, יהושע  said, “Why do you try Me, you hypocrites?


And it came to be in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus for all the world to be registered.


“Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”


And in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Yehuḏ


whom Jason has received. And all of them are acting contrary to the dogmas of Caesar, saying there is another sovereign, יהושע.”


while Sha’ul said in his own defence, “Neither against the Torah of the Yehuḏ


“And we think it right to hear from you what you think, for indeed, concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere.”
