From that time יהושע  began to show to His taught ones that it was necessary for Him to go to Yerushalayim, and to suffer much from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and to be raised again the third day.


and deliver Him to the gentiles to mock and to flog and to impale. And the third day He shall be raised.”


“And the rest, having seized his servants, insulted and killed them.


Then they spat in His face and beat Him, and others slapped Him,


And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.


And some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.


And immediately, in the morning, the chief priests had a council meeting with the elders and scribes and all the council. Having bound יהושע, they led Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.


and having flogged Him they shall kill Him. And on the third day He shall rise again.”


And the entire assembly of them, having risen up, led Him to Pilate,


And Herodes, with his soldiers, made light of Him and mocked Him, dressing Him in a splendid robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.


And the people were standing, looking on, and the rulers also were sneering with them, saying, “He saved others, let Him save Himself if He is the Messiah, the chosen of Elohim.”


And when He had said this, one of the officers who stood by slapped יהושע  in the face, saying, “Do You answer the high priest this way?”


Then they led יהושע  from Qayapha to the palace, and it was early. And they themselves did not go into the palace, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.


They answered and said to him, “If He were not an evil-doer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.”


in order that the word of יהושע  might be filled which He spoke, signifying by what death He was about to die.


Pilate answered, “Am I a Yehuḏ


this One, given up by the set purpose and foreknowledge of Elohim, you have impaled and put to death through the hands of lawless men –
