Thou, even thou, art to be feared: And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath surprised the godless ones. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.
And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.
then I will walk contrary unto you in fury; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.
Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.
But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
