How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?


As with a sword in my bones, mine adversaries reproach me; While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?


Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And forgettest our affliction and our oppression?


O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?


How long, O LORD, wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?


Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

But Zion said, Jehovah hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.


I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are the LORD'S remembrancers, take ye no rest,


Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
