Though he slay me, yet will I wait for him: Nevertheless I will maintain my ways before him.


The waters wear the stones; The overflowings thereof wash away the dust of the earth: And thou destroyest the hope of man.


He hath broken me down on every side, and I am gone: And mine hope hath he plucked up like a tree.


Is not thy fear of God thy confidence, And thy hope the integrity of thy ways?


What is my strength, that I should wait? And what is mine end, at I should be patient?


My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, And are spent without hope


I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.


And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from the LORD.


Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.
