This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;


Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague brake in upon them.


Thus were they defiled with their works, And went a whoring in their doings.


Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: Thou wast a God that forgavest them, Though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.


Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the hardness of his face is changed.


For my people is foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.


Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.


For we also were aforetime foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
