Prepare against her the nations, the kings of the Medes, the governors thereof, and all the deputies thereof, and all the land of his dominion.


And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him.


Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.


And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.


and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one; that these satraps might give account unto them, and that the king should have no damage.

or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
