So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan (the same is Beth-el), he and all the people that were with him.
Hear this, O ye priests, and hearken, ye house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king, for unto you pertain the judgement; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
but seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.
And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal; and they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.

Then said Samuel to the people, Come and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.
And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
