Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath broken down his altar.


Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the spring of Harod: and the camp of Midian was on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.


And Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his own house.


neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.


And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.


So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more within the border of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
