And they said, We will not come forth, neither will we do the word of the king, to profane the sabbath day.

But the Israelites replied: “We won’t come out, and we won’t do what the king commands and so violate the Sabbath.”

And they said, "We will not go out, and we will not do the king's word, so as to profane the day of the Sabbath."

And they said: We will not come forth, neither will we obey the king's edict, to profane the sabbath day.

“We will not come out,” they answered. “We will not obey the king's command, and we will not profane the Sabbath.”

They said, “We won’t come out. We won’t do the word of the king, to profane the Sabbath day.”

The Jews answered, “We're not coming out! And we refuse to break the laws of the Sabbath by obeying the king's orders!”
