After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”


“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever.


then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render to each whose heart thou knowest, according to all his ways (for thou, thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men);


if you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and reward you with a rightful habitation.


His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.


Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts!


But thou, O Lord, art a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.


For the Lord God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly.


For our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel.


Men of perverse mind are an abomination to the Lord, but those of blameless ways are his delight.


For the upright will inhabit the land, and men of integrity will remain in it;


He who walks in integrity will be delivered, but he who is perverse in his ways will fall into a pit.


But, O Lord of hosts, who judgest righteously, who tries the heart and the mind, let me see thy vengeance upon them, for to thee have I committed my cause.
