Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I beseech thee, save my life!”


For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling;


“Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.”


The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.


How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?


Arise, O Lord! confront them, overthrow them! Deliver my life from the wicked by thy sword,


Deliver my soul from the sword, my life from the power of the dog!


Remember not the sins of my youth, or my trangressions; according to thy steadfast love remember me, for thy goodness' sake, O Lord!


But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of thy steadfast love answer me. With thy faithful help


How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile thy name for ever?


How long, O Lord? Wilt thou be angry for ever? Will thy jealous wrath burn like fire?


Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine,


For great is thy steadfast love toward me; thou hast delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.


Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on thy servants!


Lo, it was for my welfare that I had great bitterness; but thou hast held back my life from the pit of destruction, for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.


O my God, incline thy ear and hear; open thy eyes and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name; for we do not present our supplications before thee on the ground of our righteousness, but on the ground of thy great mercy.


From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?’


to the praise of his glorious grace which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
