Why do you, like God, pursue me? Why are you not satisfied with my flesh?
if the men of my tent have not said, ‘Who is there that has not been filled with his meat?’
They surrounded me like bees, they blazed like a fire of thorns; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the Lord?
The cords of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me;
Yea, dogs are round about me; a company of evildoers encircle me; they have pierced my hands and feet—
Arise, O Lord! Deliver me, O my God! For thou dost smite all my enemies on the cheek, thou dost break the teeth of the wicked.
Have those who work evil no understanding, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?
And many shall stumble thereon; they shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.”
