As for the half-share of the Israelites that Moses divided from those who had gone out to battle:

from the one half portion belonging to the sons of Israel, which he had separated from the portion of those who had been in the battle.

Out of the half of the children of Israel, which he had separated for them that had been in the battle.

And Moses gave the tribute, which was the offering for the Lord, to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses.
