And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, every one who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem,
“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the people of Israel instead of every first-born that opens the womb among the people of Israel. The Levites shall be mine,
“Number the sons of Levi, by fathers' houses and by families; every male from a month old and upward you shall number.”
And you shall take the Levites for me—I am the Lord—instead of all the first-born among the people of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the people of Israel.”
