And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”


He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron whom he had chosen.


Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tent.


Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.


Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord,


if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.


After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister,


“Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.
