There were also many women there, looking on from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him;


There were also women looking on from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome,


But Jesus turning to them said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.


The women who had come with him from Galilee followed, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid;


and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,


And all were weeping and bewailing her; but he said, “Do not weep; for she is not dead but sleeping.”


Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.
