When he is quiet, who can condemn? When he hides his face, who can behold him, whether it be a nation or a man?—
Who provides for the raven its prey, when its young ones cry to God, and wander about for lack of food?
“Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to yield its water; so you shall bring water out of the rock for them; so you shall give drink to the congregation and their cattle.”
But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
