You shall not take vengeance or bear any grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.


“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’


He said, “The one who showed mercy on him.” And Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”


“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.


For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”


For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith working through love.


But concerning love of the brethren you have no need to have any one write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another;


Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart and a humble mind.


Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.


Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard.


For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,


We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.


Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth.


And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.


Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
