Stretch out your hand from on high; set me free and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hand of foreigners,


The cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of perdition assailed me;


the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me.


Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them.


Deep calls to deep at the thunder of your torrents; all your waves and your billows have gone over me.


By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.


Do not let the flood sweep over me or the deep swallow me up or the Pit close its mouth over me.


I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me.


See, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong, like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, like a storm of mighty, overflowing waters; with force he will hurl them down to the earth.


So those in the west shall fear the name of the Lord, and those in the east, his glory, for he will come like a pent-up stream that the wind of the Lord drives on.


After the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing, and the troops of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.


Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great whore who is seated on many waters,


And he said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the whore is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.
